01 / Profile

Engineering water systems as real infrastructure.

Background, academic credentials, and core focus in water resources management.

I reduced water losses by 24 L/s (~700,000 m³/year) across a 7,600km distribution network serving 96 municipalities in Italy and raised the underlying data completeness from 67% to 98.45% to get there.

I'm a civil and hydraulic engineer with 5+ years of experience in water and wastewater distribution systems, including 2+ years in Italy. My work sits at the intersection of hydraulic modelling, field monitoring, and leakage reduction: building and calibrating demand-driven and pressure-driven network models in InfoWorks WS Pro, MIKE+, and WaterGEMS, designing pressure and flow monitoring campaigns (CPIS, step-testing), and translating field and SCADA data into DMA restructuring, valve/PRV placement, and pressure-management strategies that actually cut losses.

Before this, I built and validated HEC-HMS rainfall-runoff models for flood forecasting in the Brembo River Basin (800+ km²), reaching 97% agreement with observed peak discharge, work that fed into an early-warning system for roughly 50,000 residents and was later published in the Journal of Flood Risk Management.

I hold an M.Sc. in Civil Engineering for Mitigation of Risks from Natural Hazards from the University of Pavia and IUSS, and work regularly across InfoWorks, MIKE+, WaterGEMS, EPANET, HEC-RAS, QGIS, ArcGIS, Python, and SQL.

I'm always glad to connect with people working on water distribution efficiency, hydraulic modelling, or flood risk, whether that's comparing notes on leakage management approaches or talking through a specific network problem.

JUN 2024 — PRESENT · ENYDROS, MILAN, ITALY

Civil & Hydraulic Engineer

Developed advanced methodologies for hydraulic simulations across a 7,600 km water and wastewater distribution network covering 96 municipalities using InfoWorks WS Pro, MIKE+, WaterGEMS, and GIS. Improved data completeness from 67% to 98.45% via monitoring campaigns (CPIS) and step-tests, calibrating pressure-driven models, detecting major leaks (22.3 L/s), and recommending interventions that reduced losses by 24 L/s (700,000 m³/year).

CONSORZIO DI BONIFICA MUZZA BASSA LODIGIANA, LODI, ITALY

Technical Specialist

Performed single-event-based hydrological rainfall-runoff simulations to estimate peak flows using 11 years of discharge data in the Brembo River Basin (800+ km²) with HEC-HMS and QGIS. Achieved 97% model accuracy, leading to a publication in the Journal of Flood Risk Management (2025) and supporting early warning systems for 50,000 residents.

2015 — 2018 · ABI BIKARAN

Project Coordinator / R&D Lead

Managed automatic drip irrigation machine production orders and led a 15-person R&D engineering team across 120,000 hectares of agricultural land. Standardized production workflows resulting in a 40% increase in output and a 30% reduction in processing time.
